How come the bandits never update their home page? Well I'l tell you why. SB has been busy recording in the rehearsal room, not having time to do anything else, but when our good old buddies Goldcrush asked SB to play with them at Oslo's new rock'n'roll venue Funhouse, Sonic Bandits couldn't refuse. A merge of rock'n'roll and punk rock, and just maybe SB will pull some great new songs out of their sleeves. Free entrance.

The newly recorded "Girl Like You" was posted on the Sonic Bandits Urørt and Myspace pages. Be sure to check it out! No updates in a while, but the bandits are working their ass off with their new material. Another recording session will begin soon.

- Well, the new EP has arrived, so how 'bout a release gig?
- Uhm... we'll see... uhm....
- I hear you've switched to gospel music? No more rock'n'roll?
- SOD OFF, YOU BLEEDIN' C**T! The NEW cds have arrived, so we're no longer pushing gospel (Damn those useless wankers who were supposed to press the EP!). Anyhow, give us a call if you want the EP, or check out Tiger and Big Dipper in Oslo, but give us a couple of days, eyh?

October 9th, 2007
The new version of Kick it Out is posted on Urørt and Myspace.

October 5th, 2007
Well, well, well, showing up at Mono the 23rd of October, are we? Cheering shamlessly as Sonic Bandits enters the stage, are we? Giving our vote to our favorite bandits when the night is over, are we? That's right! Sonic Bandits is picked out to the preliminary rounds of Zoom 2008. There's some kind of voting system, so the bandits need all the help they can get. Sonic Bandits needs you! (And YOU, and probably you too)

Five of the songs that the bandits have recorded have now been mastered at Masterhuset. They will all be released on a limited edition CD-EP within weeks, but the impatient ones among you should check out the Sonic Bandits myspace and Urørt pages the next couple of days...

What the bloody hell? What's that? News in Celtic? Swedish? Gaelic? Norwegian? Terribly sorry for the inconveniance, my international friend! I'm sure a lot of our readers don't understand Norwegian at all (except maybe the words "fjord", "huff da" and maybe the name of that guy siding with the Germans during WWII, which I seem to have forgotten somehow) Never mind! The news feed says something about your grandmother going to the Hydromatics+Cobra Kai+Sonic Bandits show at Elm Street with some Roman emperor. You better be there too. Oh, and yup, we're going to Trondheim in October, you better be there too!

September 4th, 2007
AAAAAAAAARAAAITE! Mild legendefaktor her altså. Skal dette bli en av de mange latterlig feite konsertene du dreit i å dra på, bare for å se repriser av Hotel Cæsar med bestemora di? Nei!

August 28th, 2007
Long time, no vidi! Sonic Bandits has been recording in Harry's Gym Recording Studio, and ten tracks are supposed to be mixed by September 27th, but nobody's making any promises. Oh, and maybe Sonic Bandits will finally play in Trondheim, but again, nobody's making any promises. Meanwhile the band is working with a lot of new material.

April 20th, 2007
Sonic Bandits supports Th'Legendary Shack*Shakers (US) at John Dee Tuesday the 24th of April.

January 25th, 2007
Happy new year, folks! We're back with some updates, if anybody's interested. Sonic Bandits is supporting Sonic Angels (F) at Feelgood in Halden February 9th. Also, One Track Mind EP has got two new reviews, from Norwegian rock'n'roll website Rockeweb (5/6) and Danish Lowcut Magazine (3/5). Rockeweb even put it on their list of recommended EPs from 2006. OTM EP is still available through our webshop, you know. Meanwhile, the bandits are still recording tracks in their rehearsal room.

December 15th, 2006
Sonic Bandits' drummer (#3) has a nasty habit of reproducing every now and then, so the rest of the bandits are forced to spend the cold December nights in the rehearsal room without him. Sonic Bandits Inc's web department predicts that bandits #1, #2, #4 and #5 will...

1. Produce 250 new riffs that create a heated debate about whether the riffs are best suited as a verse or a refrain. The riffs are then forgotten within three days because they are never recorded, and never developed beyond the initial two or three chords.
2. Develop alcoholism (applies only to the bandits that are not already bordeline alcoholics). Without the drummer present, the other bandits can use "creativity" as an excuse for drinking on every rehearsal. Alcohol of course reduces the ability to follow the beat, but who needs that when the drummer is home changing diapers?
3. Record guitar, bass and vocal tracks on the drum tracks the bandits previously have recorded, only to discard them two weeks later, even though they initially thought they were great.
4. Argue about 7" vs 10" vs 12" vinyl and the fact that very few people buy vinyl these days.
5. Drink a lot of coffee and stare gloomily at each other.

November 20th, 2006
Two new gigs booked. We're supporting Norwegian boogie rock heroes The Ratcats December 1st, and we've been booked to Grønland Hotnights December 12th.

Sonic Bandits on Myspace! Check out www.myspace.com/sonicbandits

April 24th, 2006
Been lying through our teeth about the release date for the 7", but now we're getting somewhere! The four songs have been mastered by Willy Almighty from Mother Ocean Records. Not sure if we want to listen to them before they're sent to The Czech Republic - we'll press the 7" no matter what; no re-recording this time around! (Yeah, right!). We'll have to throw a release party some day, but we'll get back to you on that one. Meanwhile, keep the 6th of May open for Ramaskrik 2006 at Gamla, Oslo.

March 28th, 2006
A demo version of Goddamn is now available in the Music section. This is not the version for the 7", but the version we recorded last fall.

March 23rd, 2006
Yet another gig date is confirmed! Sonic Bandits will play at Böghockeyfestivalen in Lillehammer. Check out www.boghockey.no

March 21st, 2006
The gig with Carl Berner Sound System has been confirmed. Sonic Bandits will show you the ropes Saturday the 6th of May at Gamla, Oslo, with CBSS and Dozärne. By then we'll hopefully have the 7" ready.

March, 1st, 2006
About two weeks ago, Sonic Bandits finally gave in and followed Mother Ocean Records' advise to re-record the four songs for the 7"  at Come Again? Studios. Given our tendency to discard all our recordings a few months after we've done them, we'll probably will come again some time or another. The tapes are now in the hands of Autotune-Hassan, who's supposed to mix the songs this weekend. Bottom line, we'll probably ship the tapes to The Czech Republic within one or two weeks.

We're also trying to do something with Carl Berner Sound System again, this time at Gamla, Oslo, the 6th of May. It's actually CBSS that arranges the whole thing, so we'll give more info when we hear more from them.

February 7th, 2006
Howdy y'all! We're trying to get this thing to 1. work, and 2. look decent. As you can see, both are difficult tasks for us monominds.

However don't let this shitty homepage keep you from showing up at LaPlace, Kongsberg, Thursday night. We'll probably be on 'round 23 p.m.

The four songs we recorded last fall are now being mixed by Mother Ocean Records' very own Willy B, and will hopefully be ready for shipment to the Czech Republic within a couple of weeks (read: august 2008). The songs will be released on a 7" single on Mother Ocean Records.

We spent last Sunday recording two more songs at Come Again? Studios, but we're not quite sure what to do with the songs; recording a whole album has been suggested. Not sure about that one, though...
